Fabric and Construction

  • Wool, cotton, and silk can last a lifetime if you give them love and take good care of them. And they don't look cheap!
  • Lower-quality acrylics, especially knits, can get very pilly or become shiny. Not a good look, ladies!
  • Hems should always be smooth and flat
  • Seams should be straight and should lie flat as well. Zero puckering is perfection.
  • Patterns and strips should match up at the seams. It looks poorly made when they don't.
  • A lining is always a good thing. Don't ever let anyone tell you differently. A lining helps create structure and maintains form.
